Special Formula of Crystals

The quantity and size of crystals in this special formula mean that Stan's Race Sealant can only be installed directly into the tire. As a result of its immense sealing capabilities, the Race Sealant will clog injectors and smaller bottles almost immediately. Stans are now making their Race Sealant available to riders everywhere and is only available in 32 oz.

Quiet Formulation

For nearly fifteen years Stan has been quietly formulating a special racing version of Stans legendary sealant for many of cycling's most successful teams. Working with athletes who push themselves and their tubeless systems to the absolute limit, Stans has developed a proprietary sealant formula with close to twice the amount of their standard sealing crystals plus their special "XL" crystals capable of sealing even larger punctures. Stan's Race Sealant's combination of large and smaller sealing crystals interlock to form a lattice work that not only seals but strengthens and reinforces the area of the puncture, allowing for an entirely new level of sealing performance.

Have you seen Stans before?

If you've walked the mechanics' pits at any National or International level event, chances are you've seen them: trademark Stan's black 32 oz bottles with no labels. Look closer and you might have seen strange symbols scrawled all over the bottles in a silver marker, letters and numbers, and formula notes by the man himself, Stan Koziatek.

Please Note: The quantity and size of crystals in this special formula means that Stan's Race Sealant can only be installed directly into the tire. As a result of its immense sealing capabilities, Race Sealant is not compatible with injector or other valve installation methods.  Race sealant should be inspected every 2-3 weeks for best performance. Be sure to rinse race sealant out of used tires intended to be stored/reinstalled.

Stan’s No Tubes Race Sealant is expensive, but contains twice as many sealing crystals and uses bigger particles that can make larger holes air tight. Latex-based and natural, Stan’s is one of the first and best-known tyre sealants. Its popular original formula is proven to work without the familiar issues of drying out prematurely or simply not being able to plug small holes and rips in damaged tyres. Its sealing properties are so potent; it needs to be poured directly into the tyre, rather than through the valve, as it quickly clogs valve cores. Race formula is only available in bigger tubs (just under a litre for just over thirty quid), but the extra price over No Tubes standard sealant is a worth it since it’s worked extremely well for me on multiple occasions; plugging big holes fast before I’ve lost all air, which is something that rarely happens out on the trail with other sealants. The price is higher then, but reflected in superior performance. This is simply the most effective sealant I’ve used in the real world where tyres often get pierced in awkward, harder-to-seal places (like next to the bead, rather than on the crown), and where changing temperatures and difficult to seal holes play havoc with many rival formulas.
