The front section of the outsole is fitted with optimally shaped blocks, which are arranged in an ideal pattern to maximize traction. The open, mud-shedding tread pattern allows mud and debris to fall through, keeping the shoe and pedal light and power-efficient.
Dynalast Shoe Technology - creating pedaling efficiency
The toe-spring section of a cycling shoe plays a key role in supporting efficient pedaling. Too high, and it causes increased tension in the plantar, calf, and hamstring muscles. Too low, and you get a bowlegged, inefficient pedaling form.
Extensive research by Shimano's R&D experts has produced a superior shoe last design with an optimized toe-spring section that promotes a smoother, more energy-efficient upstroke. Built based on feedback from pro riders, Shimano Dynalast helps reduce energy loss on long rides, letting you keep more in the tank for that final sprint to the line.
Cross X-Straps
Introducing a new strap design for off-road riding. When you kick the ground or push your bike uphill, pressure increases on the tendons and bones on top of your foot. To alleviate this pressure and reduce discomfort when you're off the bike, Shimano relocated the strap's fastening section to the side of the shoe.
