The heart of any great cycling shoe is the sole and with the X-Trail MTB Shoes, you'll enjoy the calibrated stiffness of Northwave's mountain bike specific Explorer sole unit. It's remarkably good at getting power to the pedals with little wasted energy while off the bike, the flexible medial zone ensures you enjoy perfect comfort for those hike-a-bike sections. Traction is provided via a Michelin rubber tread, it's 28% more abrasion resistant than TPU for awesome durability and it's also sticky and grippy on both pedals and rough and slippery ground.
The upper of the X-Trail shoe is formed using a wonderfully comfortable 3D mesh which is then coated with a wear-resistant protective film and features impact-resistant reinforcements - this is one tough shoe, easily up to the demands of all your dirt riding. To get your foot comfortable, the asymmetrical straps allow you to apply just the right amount of hold and pressure where you need it while the integrated heel system reduces bulk and prevents heel elevator as you push and pull on the pedals.
