Maloja, pronounced "mah-low-yah", is not just a name, it’s a way of life. It’s the feeling of wanting to share beautiful moments with friends to make them even more perfect. The desire never to give up being curious about the many things life still has in store for you.
This Maloja feeling is contained in one experience - we got hooked on Maloja, the “alderwoods” of the Swiss Engadin. First, there was only a picture of a snowboarder on the internet, of perfect powder and empty slopes, a tiny title under the image; Maloja. Then came a deep feeling of curiosity and the irresistible urge to find out what it was all about. Only a few kilometers away from all the crowds of posh alpine resorts, the mountain village of Maloja, a sleepy place of steep slopes and perfect powder runs amongst pine trees - just as seen on that small internet picture. We were determined to find something different, and here it was, only 17km from St Moritz.
Maloja soon became a phrase in our circle of friends - equal to anything heartfelt, good and beautiful. When in 2004 the thought surfaced to create something new, a company and brand with its own unique mission, that first desire to go somewhere new and different was drawn upon. It seemed right to give the brand the name ‘Maloja’. The Maloja way of life propelled us then and now – creating something new and different
