When you're mountain biking, an almost inevitable part of life is some downtime - as in hitting the dirt after crashing. And when that happens you'll be glad of the tough protection the Montaro MTB Helmet II (MIPS) offers.
When you do bang your head, the EPS foam liner provides the shock-absorbing properties needed to protect against injury. Roll Cage™ reinforcement also maintains structural strength and stability during a crash. The MTB-specific shape ensures greater coverage across the whole head too.
Covering the liner is a durable polycarbonate shell. This is bonded directly to the EPS Liner, creating a strong and durable helmet that can fend off the knocks from trail overgrowth. To this Giro then adds MIPS.
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System)
The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.
Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.

Mountain Bike Features
As a mountain bike helmet, the Montaro has some specific features you'll love. The P.O.V. Plus™ visor allows you to easily elevator the visor, making space to stow goggles on the front of your helmet when your run is done. Ideal for the uplift or when chilling out before dropping back in.
Talking of goggles, grippers on the back keep your goggle straps securely in place, no matter how rough the terrain.
Roc Loc® 5 Air MIPS System
Setting the standard for ease of adjustment, stability and comfort, the Roc Loc® 5 Air MIPS System ensures you always get the right fit of your helmet. Integrated with the MIPS system it allows for precise adjustment, with both fore-aft tilt and single-hand dial adjustment.
It also allows for uncompromised airflow to your head. The design allows a smooth passage of cooling air through the vents and along the inner air channels. And it’s lighter than comparable systems too, making it the ultimate in skull-hugging luxury.

Returned goods must be unused and supplied with their original packaging, unless the goods are faulty. Wiggle will pay the return postage costs for any faulty items.
