Garmin’s Edge 830 is a responsive, convenient, compact and aerodynamic touchscreen GPS cycling computer which offers dynamic performance monitoring and insights to help you improve your cycling. The computer looks at how heat and altitude affect your performance, how many meters are left in an intense climb, plus metrics that track your jump count, jump distance and hang time. You can use the Edge 830 to create your own routes directly on the device with advanced navigation capabilities that help you ride like a local with both on- and off-road maps and route recalculation. Additional safety features have also been added and there are a whole host of customizable options that can be accessed via the Connect IQ Store.

Training

Garmin’s Edge 830 cycling computer allows you to take your training to the next level with advanced, dynamic performance insights. See how your environment effects your performance with all new heat and altitude acclimation. Meanwhile, in-ride notifications let you know when it’s time to eat. You can then see if your most recent training was balanced in terms of endurance, threshold and high-intensity efforts. Various compatible sensors can be synced to the computer for even further insight that can be streamed, in real-time, to the computer’s display. Sync your smartphone for access to the TrainingPeaks apps which allows you to create and sync your own structured workouts, and share all your results via the Garmin Connect app.

Safety

Give yourself peace of mind with the Edge 830’s huge host of safety and communication features. You can stay in contact with other riders with messaging and tracking. Incident detection will automatically send your location to emergency contacts if it detects an incident. The new PIN-protected bike alarm will notify you on your smartphone if your bike is moved when it shouldn’t be.

Navigation

Keep on route with the preloaded Garmin Cycling Map which includes turn by turn directions and navigation alerts that notify you of upcoming turns. Popularity routing lets you ride like a local showing your which roads and trails have been most traveled by fellow cyclists.

Trail Riding

Not only is the Garmin Edge 830 built for cyclists, but it’s also designed for those that like to take things off the beaten track. The Trailforks apps can be found in the Connect IQ Store and features trails from more than 80 different countries. Trailforks includes the best, most-up-date information, including trail conditions, heatmaps and more. During your ride the device will tracks all your movements with new mountain biking specific metrics such as jump count, distance and hang time. The new GRIT app rates the difficulty of a ride using GPS, elevation and accelerometer data. Meanwhile, FLOW measures how smoothly you descend a trail, so you have a score to beat on your next go.

ClimbPro

The feature automatically shows the remaining ascent and grade when you’re climbing while following a route or course.

Customizable

Fully customizable you can use the Garmin Connect IQ app to download tonnes of additional free apps, widgets and data fields which you can then switch in and out of your device’s display.
