The popular Bont Riot Road + features a Boa closure as well as a hook-and-loop strap on the forefoot so that you can ensure a comfortable fit and make minor adjustments on the go. The closures have been configured to distribute pressure evenly across the foot, minimizing 'hot spots.' Instead of the traditional nylon composite, Bont Riots feature carbon fiberglass composite sole which offers more stiffness so you can be confident that you won't be wasting power.
If you are a road cyclist looking to upgrade to a high-performance road shoe, the Bont Riot is a great choice. Like all Bont shoes, it's heat-moldable for a fit that's individual to you and has been designed for that perfect balance of comfort and performance.
This cycling shoe is the most heat moldable shoe on the market today thanks to Bont's resin which has taken 36 years to perfect so it is extremely stiff but pliable at relatively low temperatures. To mold your shoes, remove any cleats, laces or cleat mounting screws and innersole before molding. Pre-heat the oven to 70C/160F. Place the shoe in the oven for 20 minutes. Higher temperatures will void your warranty and may damage your boot. Let them cool a little and test the shoe temperature with your hand before placing your feet in the shoes. Tighten the straps and allow to cool. If you have any lumps or bunions on your feet or if there are any areas causing discomfort, while the shoe is hot you can use the round end of a screwdriver to press out any part of the boot. You can heat mold the shoes as many times as you like.
The carbon composite construction of the Riot+ has been specifically designed to ensure maximum performance at low weight. The composite tub style construction of the chassis has been strengthened with the inclusion of carbon across high-stress areas. The carbon has been sandwiched between layers of fiberglass to maximize strength.
A last is a replica of a foot that the cycling shoe is built around. Last makers do not make cycling shoe lasts, they only make shoe lasts so perfecting a cycling shoe last requires a great deal of expertize in functional biomechanics and ongoing research. Bont have been perfecting their performance footwear lasts since 1975 and the process is ongoing which is why they believe that Bont cycling shoes continue to be a leader in providing the most functional and correct anatomical support to cyclists than any other brand on the market. Their motto in terms of cycling shoe fit is simple, "We make shoes for cycling, not walking."
Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedaling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain. Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided to stop over pronation of feet. This is also supported by Bont's Lateral Forefoot Support.

Bont Size Chart To find your size, place a tape measure on a flat surface up against a wall. Stand on the tape measure with your heel against the wall. Look down and take the measurement from your longest toe. Then use the MM scale on the size chart to find your size. The 'Standard Fit' column gives an idea of the width of the shoe (at the widest part of your foot).
The mm sizes on the size chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. If you find that your mm size is exactly the same as a value on the size chart, you may want to select one size bigger to give your toes some room. Eg. You measure your foot and it is 268mm is size which is a size 42.5. Unless you like your shoes very tight, you may wish to wear a size 43.
