Salomon introduces lightweight running shoes designed for committed runners who like speed. With specific technologies focused on appropriate fit and ride for shorter duration, faster paced running.
Having developed countless innovations for fit, grip and ride in trail running. Slalomon designers and engineers turned their sights on creating a training shoe more dedicated to everyday runners who focus on speed and comport for short distances.
The result is lightweight shoes that look as fast as they run. But performance requires more than just being lightweight and this is where Salomon know how sets the Sonic apart from other lightweight sneakers.
To ensure a fluid ride with no dead spots, Salomon incorporates EnergyCell and EnergryCell+ dual density midsole for shock absorption and a super light 3D Profeel Film to assist heel-toe transition.
Finally, to provide the precise fit that is synonymous with Salomon and ensure the heel and midfoot stay comfortably in place, the Sonic range introduces the famous Sensifit, Quicklace and Endofit technologies.
To determine the correct type of running shoe for your feet, use the tried and tested "wet foot test". Dip your foot into water and then stand on a surface that will show your footprint - a towel or piece of paper or cardboard. The shape of your wet footprint indicates the amount of stability you might need in your shoe. If your footprint looks like the one on the right (with a very narrow band or no band at all between the forefoot and the heel) then you should choose shoes from the cushion category on this page Cushioned shoes generally have the softest midsoles and the least added stability. They're built on a semicurved or curved last to encourage foot motion, which is helpful for runners who have rigid, immobile feet (underpronators). You should buy these if you're an efficient runner whose feet don't roll inwards excessively (overpronate) when you run.
Salomon was born in the French Alps in 1947. Their passion for mountain sport progression, product development, quality and craftsmanship drives them to create progressive gear to enable freedom and help you challenge yourself in the mountains. In a society where speed and stress have taken over, people take less and less time to play and connect with nature. Play is Salomon's essence, which they use to create the next generation of gear and experiences that make people live the joy of progression of their sport(s) throughout their unique mindset. Play To Enjoy. Play To Progress. Play with the Rules.
