Dainese's Rhyolite Soft Jacket is a high performance protection jacket. It includes an integrated back protector made of Crash Absorb® with special design to offer unparalleled softness and flexibility without compromising protection.
When you're pushing the limits inevitably you'll end up hitting the dirt and as such to ensure you can get up and keep rolling good protection is essential. Dainese have designed the Rhyolite soft jacket to offer excellent fit, feel and comfort while also being lightweight and meeting excellent standards for protection. The lightness and freedom of movement afforded by this jacket means you can concentrate on pushing those limits without feeling hindered or held back. Don't let a slam spoil your fun.
The integrated back-guard uses softflex technology, an anatomically designed system that uses two layers of protection that act independently of each other that allows a perfect fit when in the riding position. The Crash Absorb® memory retention foam ensures the jacket is certified to EN1621-2 for energy absorption and coverage.
Shoulder, elbow, chest and ribs are protected using Pro-shape padding, a lightweight and flexible honeycombe structure allowing the protective panels to conform to body shape. This is sandwiched with memory foam offering excellent impact absorption for minimal weight, in fact the best absorption to weight ration on the market.
Removable sleeves allow the jacket to be used on uphill sections where padding isn't required but the extra airflow is desirable. The jersey also uses a 4 way stretch fabric for fit that also offers excellent breathability while also being durable. All features adding to rider comfort.
BACK PROTECTOR - CRASH ABSORB® MEMORY RETENTION MATERIAL
The back protector uses a special material (water-repellent elastic-visco nitrile rubber) with shape retention memory and excellent energy absorption that adapts perfectly to the shape of the body and ensures optimum fit and protection.
PRO-SHAPE COUPLED WITH CRASH ABSORB®
Constant technological research and study for the ideal ergonomics have led to the development of a new generation of protectors certified to EN 1621.1 Standard capable of combining a high level of protection for compliance to the Standard with extreme flexibility and incomparable comfort.
A sandwich composed of an outer layer in polymer with the highest shock absorption capacity and remarkable elasticity is bonded to an inner layer of polyethylene foam of the highest thickness to create an extremely flexible and deformable structure that also vaunts high shape retention for adaptation to the shapes of the body in order to ensure excellent ergonomics able to follow the body in even its smallest movements The perforated structure also ensures the correct ventilation of the area for greater riding comfort.
Cycling Body armor is a wise investment for both downhill and trials riding where falls and impacts into immovable objects are always a possibility. Body armor is light, unrestrictive and inexpensive when compared to the alternatives of not wearing it. Some riders even claim that Body armor can increase your confidence levels, which may make you ride faster. Wiggle stocks a large range of body armor which can cover the knees and shin, elbows, shoulders and chest. A lot of manufacturers, such as Dainese, Sixsixone and Thor produce all-in-one armored jackets to cover the entire upper body for extreme descents. The most common advice with body armor is to buy it 'before' you 'need' it, rather than 'after' you 'needed' it.
The history of Dainese began in Molvena, Italy in 1972. Lino Dainese started designing and making protective apparel for bike riders. Taking inspiration from the geometry of medieval armory and from nature itself, Dainese made technological innovation for protection during sports their true mission. To Dainese, safety means protection, comfort and reliability; factors which, when properly balanced, lead to the creation of highly effective products which meet the requirements of a wide range of customer needs. It was Dainese who conceived the idea of “head-to-toe” protection which combines various apparel components with rider protection, and optimizes performance and weight.
