The GP Force/Attack tire set is a front and rear specific tire combination designed for racing. Both featuring BlackChili compound and Vectran Breaker they provides great straight-line speed, grip and cornering excellence.
|Puncture Protection:||Vectran Breaker|
|Wheel Size:||700c (622)|
Specifically developed for the front and rear wheels of race bikes. The GP Attack benefits from its special Black Chili version that gives the streamlined 22mm front tire more grip with lower rolling resistance, compared to the previous GP Attack tire.
The GP Force is a powerful rear wheel specialist and with its 24mm section combined with a fast Black Chili compound, it gives excellent traction and road handling that's second to none.
Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fiber from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. Spider silk, like Vectran, has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight – exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bike tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance.
Continental refine newly developed synthetic rubbers with natural rubber with the proven high-performance tread compound. They use these rubbers with special nanometric carbon soot particles, which are optimized in shape and surface properties for best uses for the intended tire. BlackChili Compound reaches an unprecedented of performance. Tires with BlackChili Compound reach an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to the previous best Activated Silica Compound, BlackChili tires have 26% less rolling resistance, a 30 % higher friction value (grip) and a 5 % increase in mileage.
TPS TyrePositioning System
The narrower front tire (22mm) provides reduced wind resistance and better handling. An adhesion-optimized tread mixture supplies the necessary grip especially for wet cornering. The wider rear tire (24mm) offers better traction thanks to a larger contact area and at the same time more comfort. Thanks to the fast rolling, optimized tread mixture and larger contact area on the rear tire, wear is reduced. The result is a pioneering front and rear tire system for road racing – to be found in Conti’s GP Attack and Force tires/tubs.
More than 100 years experience in the development and production of bicycle tires has made Continental a unique company within the industry. Continental is the only German bicycle tire manufacturer to produce its tires in Germany. Knowing this serves as a mighty incentive to our engineers and everyone else involved in the manufacturing process to constantly strive for further innovations. In our technology and development center in Korbach, we are constantly developing new revolutionary technologies such as the unbeatable Black Chili Compound and the ultimate Vectran™ Breaker anti-puncture technology, both used at the top end of race sport. These technologies demand sophisticated processes to ensure our legendary end-product quality, and these innovations as well as the new “ProTection” and ”RaceSport” technology for MTB tires, can only be manufactured in our factory in Germany – “Handmade in Germany”. In order to offer the best tire for any application, we rely equally on dialog with our professional racers, hobby cyclists and everyday bike riders. This results not only in high-end products for top sports applications such as the new Podium TT or the revolutionary downhill tire “Der Kaiser”, but also tires for everyday use like the new innovative combination EcoContact/EcoContact Plus as a companion to the latest e-bike trend. As a global player, Continental also maintains high-tech production facilities outside of Germany, where Continental tires are produced for you with an equal degree of care and dedication. One thing all Continental bicycle tires have in common is that they are developed in the technology center in Korbach, Germany, where they also undergo strict inspection. Our heart and soul is behind the phrase “Handmade in Germany”, with all of its products and technologies.
